Haemodialysis Alters the Index of Cardiac-Electrophysiological Balance

Objective: To study electrocardiographic changes during haemodialysis and determine the relationship between electrolyte alterations acid-base balance.Study Design: Cross-sectional analytical study.
 Place Duration of Study: Haemodialysis Unit, Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar Pakistan, from Jun to Jul 2022.
 Methodology: Adult patients with end-stage renal disease on maintenance hemodialysis were selected by convenience sampling. Exclusion criteria included current hospitalization, chest pain haemodialysis, intra-dialytic hypotension,atrial fibrillation, pericardial effusion, shortening sessions unwillingness participate in study.Twelve lead electrocardiograms recorded immediately before start end sessions. At same time, serum urea, creatinine, potassium, calcium phosphate measured. Bicarbonate levels assessed venous blood gas analysis. In addition, measurements for heart rate durations PR interval, QRS complex, QT interval andcorrected reported ECG machine software recorded.
 Results: There 35 a mean age 48.69±11.39 years. complex increased 92.83±9.98 100.00± 17.94 seconds after (p=0.017). Changes other parameters insignificant. QT/QRS QTc/QRS ratios reduced 0.27±0.62 0.31±0.62 (p=0.014 0.005, respectively). none biochemical could predict reduction or ratios.
 Conclusion: The index cardiac electrophysiological balance was not related intradialytic different electrolytes base content.
